William "Will" Joseph Budig, 28, of La Porte, IN, passed away on February 25, 2026, at University of Illinois Health at Chicago.
Will was born on January 3, 1998, in Springfield, IL, to Daniel and Lynne (Galatte) Budig.
Surviving Will are his parents, Daniel and Lynne Budig of La Porte; brothers, Andrew and Michael Budig of La Porte; aunts, Gail (James) Galatte-Howard of Barrington, IL, Lisa (Tim) Galatte-Kuban of Hickory Hills, IL, Kim Steger of Kansas City, MO, and Dee Goll of Kansas City, MO; many cousins and beloved friends; as well as his Husky, Max.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nicholas Galatte, Jan Galatte, Ron Budig, Jeanne Budig-Tieken, and Al Tieken; and uncle, Christopher Budig.
Will graduated from La Porte High School and later went on to receive a certificate in welding from Ivy Tech. He enjoyed paint ball, skateboarding, snowboarding, track, swimming, and bowling. William proudly participated in the Special Olympics, where he participated in track and long jump, medaling in both.
He was a cherished son, brother, nephew, and friend who valiantly fought DSRCT cancer for 7 years. Will left his mark on all whose path he crossed!
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
