Barbara Ann (Voorhees) Cook

Barbara Ann Cook, 75, of La Porte, passed away on Thursday, September 23,  2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on August 2, 1946 in La Porte, IN, to Jess and Wilma (Kroening) Voorhees.

On August 15, 1964 in La Porte, IN she married Jack E. Cook, who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Jack (Krista) S. Cook of New Carlisle and Gwendolen "Gwen" (Ed) Nieman of Michigan City; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Cook, Alexandra (Josh) Largen, and Madilynn Hicks; 6 great-grandchildren, Elena, McKenna, Theresa, Jaiden, Ariana, and Hayley; 4 brothers, Harold Voorhees, Jess Voorhees, Jr., Robert Voorhees, and Carl Voorhees; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara was a homemaker.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, and reinventing old furniture.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Chaplain Melissa “Missy” Buche officiating.  Burial will follow at Pinhook Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 3 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 26,  2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
