Barbara Ruth (Vinson) Lewis

Barbara Ruth Lewis, 76, of La Porte, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Barbara was born on May 3, 1944 in Russellville, AL, to Archie and Lillian (Burchum) Vinson.

On June 28, 1992 in Wheeler, IN, she married James E. Lewis who preceded her in death on July 15, 2016.  Surviving are her children, Scott (Sheri) Lewis, Michael Lewis, Kenny (Erica) Bradley, Kim Bradley, and Rick (Vicky) Bradley; stepson, James Lewis; stepdaughter, Lisa (Chad) Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat Bonner, Judy Dresbaugh, Peggy Wampler, and Jerry (Becky) Vinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Barbie Lauderback; and brother, Danny Vinson.

Barbara worked as a Chrome Line Inspector at Midwest Steel Company for 30 + years until she retired in September 2003.  She enjoyed playing bingo and bunco.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Due to the recent Governor's Order, anyone attending the visitation and/or service is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of six feet.  Also, we are limited to 25 people in the building at any given time.  We kindly ask for your patience as we oversee these mandated guidelines.
