Billy Wayne Robbins

Billy Wayne Robbins, 77, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Billy was born on July 19, 1945 in Mount Vernon, KY, to Charlie B. and Viola (Bullock) Robbins.

On May 29, 1987,  in La Porte, IN, he married Anita Diane, who preceded him in death.  Surviving Billy are his daughters, Valerie (David) Malik and Vicki (Tommy) Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Amanda (Jacob Forsythe) Steele, Jacob Malik, and Anamarie Elizabeth Johnson; 1 great-grandson, Zane Forsythe; sister, Francis Petrey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; parents; granddaughter, Ashley Jennifer Malik; sisters, Flonnie Helen Chesser, Minnie Mae Petrey, Irene Hodge, Josephine Oaks, Virginia Lail, Roberta Brown, and Betty Sue Robbins; brothers, Paul Robbins, James "Buster" Robbins, Kenneth Robbins, Jack Robbins, and Jessie Robbins, Sr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Billy worked in castings for 32 years at Teledyne Casting Service. He also worked part-time at Barnes Service Center through the years.   Billy was a faithful member of Rolling Prairie First Freewill Baptist Church, where he was often found caring for not only the building but also the congregation members.  He enjoyed reading his Bible and working outside at the farm.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastors Verlin Combs and Mike Noble officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rolling Prairie First Freewill Baptist Church, 2456 E. State Road 2, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371.
