Christina Marie (Hoops) McPherson

Christina Marie (Hoops) McPherson, 73, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at her daughter's home.  Christina passed while surrounded by family.

Christina was born on August 3, 1947 in Linton, IN, to Willis Leroy and Nona Elizabeth (Carpenter) Hoops.

On September 28, 1985 in La Porte, IN, Christina married John Henry McPherson, who preceded her in death.  Surviving Christina are her children, Ronald (Anna) Heider Jr. of Union Mills, Randy Heider of Santa Fe, NM, and Misti (Dean) Putz of Westville; 20 grandchildren, Jeannea, Matthew, Stacy, Michael, Joshua, Brandi, Grant, Randy Jr., Heather, Nicole, Grant, Samantha, Kayla, Jessica, Ed, Deana, Mike, Dean Jr., Lindsay, and D.J.; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Lola Lombardo of PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, whom Christina loved very much.

Christina was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Elizabeth Hoops; brother, Earl Hoops; great granddaughter, Emma Hayman; and great grandson, Teagon Heider

Christina was a laborer for 30 years at American Rubber and later retired, after 7 years, as a Westville Correction Officer.  She was a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Christina enjoyed playing BINGO, dancing, singing, and camping.  She enjoyed making new friends.  Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at The Ridge, 6006 N. Fail Road, La Porte with Pastor Jeff Rose officiating.  Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.

A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.
