Jean Emily (Stokes) Foy

Jean Emily Foy, 99, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Walkerton, IN.

Jean was born on May 31, 1921 in Worcester, England, to Herbert Richard and Ethel Adela (Powick) Stokes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Foy; sisters, Della Southern, (Hilda) Mary Abbots, and Margaret Camus; and brothers, Herbert Alec and Raymond Richard.

In England, during WWII, Jean served in the British Women's Land Army as a "Land Girl", married an American GI and immigrated to the USA.  She worked, 17 years, at General Telephone as an operator.  Jean enjoyed hearty laughter while devoting herself to spend quality time with family and friends.  She adored dressing up as a clown, aka “Brit”, bringing joy and laughter to children and adults.  Jean Foy, a very beautiful soul, will remain indelibly imprinted upon the hearts and memories of her remaining friends and family.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private burial will take place at Patton Cemetery
