Lucille Nora (Machtemes) Plunkett

Lucille "Ciel" Nora Plunkett, 88, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Lucille was born in Chicago, IL, on November 20, 1930 to Joseph N.and Matilda C. (Kraatz) Machtemes.

Surviving are her sister, Geri Manning of Elk Grove Village, IL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

Lucille retired from Burgess Square Nursing Home in Westmont, IL as a payroll bookkeeper.  She also managed a cosmetology school in Harvey, IL and a pizza parlor in DeMotte, IN.  Lucille enjoyed baking especially apple slices and making candy.  She would make 52 pounds of fudge for everyone during the holidays.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1612 First Street, La Porte, with Pastor Brandon Martin officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 12 pm until the time of the service at the church.
