Nina was born in La Porte, IN, on December 30, 1929, to Wheeler Richard and Iva Gertrude (Barnes) Meyers.
She was the beloved wife of Charles “Dan” Firebaugh for 66 years. They were married on September 4, 1954, in Galena Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2020. Nina accepted Christ as her Savior as a young person and lived out her faith. Nina met her husband, Dan, while they attended Bryan College, where she graduated with a degree in English Literature. Dan went on to be an educator and elementary school principal. Nina was a homemaker, dedicated and loving to her husband and children. She made many memories with her children, including teaching her daughters to crochet, sew, cook and bake. She enjoyed talking with her children after school and hearing about their day, and, in the process, imparted wisdom and life lessons. Her smile and friendliness were known to many. She read her Bible faithfully and applied that to daily life. She attended Liberty Bible Church.
